What is Aw(Water activity)?

A major consideration in choosing the right type of KEEPIT is to know how much moisture a food product contains (water activity).
Please refer to the chart on the left see how much water foods contain in general.

Water activity. This is a means of indicating the amount of water in a food, which is closely related to the relative humidity in the surrounding air. Water activity (P/P_s) is the quotient found by dividing the pressure of steam (P) of water in a food, by the saturated steam pressure (P_s) of pure water at that temperature. In general, a higher figure for water activity means that bacteria are more likely to propagate and as a result it is more difficult to maintain the food in good condition.

01Use with right packing material
Oxygen absorber does its job when they are used in high quality packaging. Please ensure you are using packing material with a high oxygen barrier.
02Seal the package perfectly with a professional machine.
In order to maintain an oxygen free condition for a certain period of time, select packing material with a high resistance to oxygen permeability. KEEPIT pack use materials with a high oxygen barrier such as plastics, trays, metal cans and glass bottles.

03Choose the type of product that meet your demand
Choose the type of our oxygen absorbers that suits your product such as the volume of your container and characteristics of your product.
04Placing the oxygen absorber properly
An incorrect placing of oxygen absorber will make it useless,for example, you should place the oxygen soborber under the blister paper of an individual mooncake packge instead of direct contacting with food.

01 Before you decide to use our KEEPIT oxygen absorber,please consult us for model selection advice and choose it through our fully calculated and tested data.

02 Once open the box you will see vacuum packaging master bags which feels stiff when you press it.You can check the effectiveness of vacuum packing by look into the color of the oxygen indicator which included in the master bag.(What is oxygen indicator and how to use it?)

03 Oxygen absorber does optimal job of protecting food when they are used in high quality packaging. Pleas ensure you are using packing material with a high oxygen barrier.(Oxygen permeability20ml/1atm..24h. See our recommended packing material)

04 Please be sure there is no scratches or leak on your container,and do not cut open the box of our product since it may damage the vacuum packaging due to the sharp cutter.

05 The oxygen absorber may react with the oxygen in the air. Be sure not to leave the oxygen absorber exposed to the air for a long time or storage oxygen absorber in a strong light environment such as a place of room where sunlight could reach.

06 After opening master bag,please spread out the needed quantity of oxygen absorbers on a flat surface,such as tray, and don't pile them up，because oxygen absorber will give off heat while working and affect each other which may cause decrease of oxygen absorption capacity.
